For each type of stopmotion animation, include:
- A short definition or description of the style (for higher marks, you might want to include specifics about techniques)
- A minimum of 3 examples of the type.
- In selecting your examples, try to make sure that each of the examples is unique. Also consider choosing examples that you are interested in and that potentially serve as inspiration for your own work.
Stopmotion Demo Reel
- In class, you have had an opportunity to experiment with different types of stop motion. It is time to bring all of your work together into one reel.
- Before exporting a project from iStopMotion, be sure to remove unnecessary frames and to extend sequences as needed. After you have exported each of your finished projects from iStopMotion (probably in DV format), you can sequence them together in iMovie.
- In iMovie, be sure to include a title frame or sequence, put appropriate titles before each clip, a credits section, and suitable transitions and video effects. A suggestion would be to do all the video editing before you add the sound. When adding sound, be sure to include various levels of sound including background sound and effects. This will add depth to your finished reel.
Stopmotion projects to include in reel:
- Practice Finger Count (1 - 10, 10 - 1) and other experimentation
- Chip eating (Forward and reverse)
- Claymation
- Paper drawing
- Whiteboard animation
- Bionicles or other figurines
- Time Lapse - icecream sundae
